TreasurerComic Book Club aims to educate students of Stony Brook about the art of comic books as an informational medium. Members will discuss and produce comics in which to hone creative storytelling ability and explore techniques in effective comic creation. Each week, members will be able to discuss comics and create their own comics using industry techniques and materials. Through this, members will be given the opportunity and resources (such as access to printing and help to navigate library resources) to appropriately and effectively tell stories about their experiences and knowledge. They will be guided by club officers to find and read effective comics of both the modern and historical eras to facilitate education in comic creation as an informational medium. They will also be given the opportunity to publish their works through a club-run omnibus (similar to an anthology, but for comics instead of purely written works). Through this, they may share their comics to students of Stony Brook and the greater community to educate them about academic topics, current events, or even personal experiences.
